The Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) has disclosed the planned timeline for the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP).
This programme is designed to uplift young entrepreneurs in agriculture, food, and agro-allied sectors throughout Nigeria.
According to the ministry, the application phase for the programme will conclude on May 31, 2025.
It explained that post-application, the ministry will verify beneficiary accounts through YEIDEP’s partner banks between June 1 and June 8, 2025.
“Between June 11 and June 30, 2025, chosen beneficiaries will work with the ministry to gear up for the programme’s rollout, encompassing business financing and fund allocation,” the ministry stated.
“Funds will be allocated to Batch A beneficiaries from July 1 to July 31, 2025. The initiative will emphasize supporting youth ventures in areas like livestock rearing, staple crop farming, food processing, warehousing, packaging, marketing, and food distribution,” the ministry added.
The federal government, via the ministry, clarified that the funding is reserved exclusively for young farmers and entrepreneurs in the food and agro-allied fields. Eligible youths are encouraged to apply before the deadline of May 31, 2025.
