NPC Latest News: The National Population Commission (NPC) has announced new training dates for its ad hoc staff who will serve as enumerators and supervisors during the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
This announcement follows a workshop held from March 25th to 27th, 2023, for the Chairman and Members of the NPC on Census operations and processes in preparation for the upcoming census.
The previously announced training date of March 31st has been changed to April 25th to 30th, 2023. In adadition, the State Level DQM and Specialized Workforce Refresher Training is scheduled for April 3rd to 6th, 2023.
The census night has been set for May 2nd, 2023, with fieldwork to begin the following day and run through May 6th, 2023.
During the workshop, the Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the NPC addressed important steps towards the success of the census.

The National Population Commission (NPC) has released an updated schedule for the Adhoc Staff Enumerators and Supervisors Training, which is an essential part of the 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise.
The announcement includes a new date for the LGA Level Training, which will last for seven days from March 15 to March 21, 2023, and will take place in all 774 LGAs of the Federation.
Refreshers and Pre-Activity
Refreshers for State Level Facilitators and Specialized Workforce will take place between March 6 and March 12, 2023, according to the Updated 2023 Census Work Plan.
The LGA Level Trainers will travel to various LGA Level Training Centers between March 13 and 14, 2023, to prepare for the NPC Adhoc Staff Enumerators and Supervisors LGA Level Training.
Furthermore, the evaluation of Training Centers for the 2023 Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) will be conducted from March 13 to March 20, 2023, as a pre-activity before the LGA Level Training and Person Enumeration.
Household Listing and Profiling
During the period of March 15 to March 21, 2023, the National Population Commission will conduct the Building Numbering and Household Listing Training for Enumerators and Supervisors at the LGA Level.
Additionally, the Profiling of Enumerators and Supervisors for the Main Census will take place during this same period.
These activities are crucial for ensuring the accurate and successful execution of the 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise.
Person’s Enumeration and Census Night
The LGA Level Training on Person’s Enumeration is a critical part of the 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise and is scheduled to take place from April 26 to April 30.

The Census Night, which will take place on May 2, 2023, is an important milestone as it marks the official start of the counting process.
