Deadline: April 4, 2025
The UK Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions (UK PACT) programme has announced a new funding opportunity to support clean energy transition projects in Nigeria. The initiative aims to strengthen Nigeria’s commitment to climate change mitigation by funding innovative capacity-building projects.
What This Funding Covers
As a demand-driven initiative, the Nigeria-UK PACT Country Fund aligns its support with Nigeria’s existing energy and environmental policies. The programme has collaborated with the Nigerian government to identify key areas in the clean energy sector where funding will have the greatest impact.
The following projects have been prioritized for funding:
- Healthcare Electrification – Developing a structured approach to ensure sustainable energy access in healthcare facilities.
- Community-Led Renewable Energy – Supporting local communities to establish renewable energy projects.
- Run-of-River Small Hydropower (SHP) – Preparing projects to improve rural energy access through small hydropower solutions.
- Decentralized Renewable Energy and Grid Integration – Piloting and testing innovative energy technologies.
- Renewable Energy Skills Development – Providing technical training to improve electricity distribution and integration of renewable energy.
Project Duration
Selected projects will have a duration of 12 to 18 months, with an expected start date in June 2025.
Eligible Project Activities
