Minister Tijani Stresses Importance of Employment Opportunities for 3MTT Graduates

The Federal Government has announced its intention to offer job placements to 30,000 applicants of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, shared this update during a recent announcement, underscoring the significance of not only imparting technical training but also facilitating connections with suitable employment opportunities for graduates.

The first cohort of the 3MTT programme is on track to complete their training this week, with successful participants being considered for job placements.

More than 1,400 organizations have shown interest in recruiting from this initial cohort, and announcements regarding these job placements are anticipated in the coming weeks.

Expansion of 3MTT Programme Aligned with National Digital Job Creation Vision

In addition, Minister Tijani disclosed that the unveiling of the second batch of the 3MTT programme is slated for February 29th, 2024. This group will consist of 270,000 Nigerians who will commence training in March.

The 3MTT programme, spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, aims to equip 3 million individuals with technical skills.

It is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of generating 2 million digital jobs by 2025.

The training will encompass various subjects including software development, UI/UX design, data analysis, cybersecurity, and more.
